From blue to N E W
Josh started doing carpentry for 2 years before he decided to start working with muah. So when we first started together, and before we decided to open for business as Oakwood Homes, we took on a small remodel job with our very first client.
What the client wanted done:
- New floor coverings
- Paint
- New baseboards and casings
- Popcorn ceiling removed
- New closet doors
- Functional closet for the primary
- Add can lighting
Before & After
The Workout Room + Guest Bed
We tore out the carpet, baseboards, casings, and closet doors. The ceiling in this room had already been removed, so it just needed mudding. We started with the ceiling, then painted the walls, and installed the flooring. We added the board and batten feature wall after the floor was laid and created custom bifold closet doors for the workout room and guest bed.
The Primary Suite
We followed the same steps as the previous rooms, but we added the removal of the popcorn ceiling. To get the feature wall in this room just right, I drew up a couple different options on my phone to help the client visualize the square spacing. We went back and forth brainstorming how to get the closet just right and landed on the custom shoe rack and new, custom wooden shelves with metal hanging rods.
The Closet Doors
I've seen all over Pinterest of people turning regular bifolds into shaker beauties. So of course I ask Josh if he can do the same since all the other shaker closet doors were months out on being delivered. All I can say is Josh seriously understood the assignment because they are gorg.
